How: go to Settings → Account → Your data and choose Delete my account. You confirm with your password (if you only sign in with Google, sign in with Google again first and come back within 10 minutes).
Before you can delete it Nothing may be left half-way for someone else or for money:
- Buyers: a question still waiting for its answer or refund must finish first.
- Mentors: answer or decline your open questions, and wait for your earnings to be paid out.
- A reported problem with an answer must be decided first.
The page tells you exactly what is still open.
What happens
- Your account closes at once: you are signed out everywhere and, if you are a mentor, you disappear from Browse experts.
- For 14 days you can change your mind: sign in and choose Keep my account.
- After 14 days your details are removed: name, email, password, username, profile, photo, bank details, evidence and documents, support conversations and notifications. Reviews you wrote keep their stars without the text, and messages you wrote in question conversations are blanked.
- Payment, refund and payout records stay, without your name, because accounting and tax law require them. The questions and answers stay for the other person's record.
